A U.S. Senate Democrat from North Dakota plans to introduce a bill next week to ban the use of laptop computers in airplane cockpits. Byron Dorgan wants to avoid a repeat of last month – when a Northwest Airlines plane overflew the Twin Cities airport by 150 miles into Wisconsin because the pilots weren’t paying attention. Minnesota’s 2 U.S. senators have also called on the FAA to ban pilots’ use of personal laptops and electronic devices while they’re in the air. The 2 Northwest pilots admitted talking about new flight schedules and using laptops when they lost track of where they were.
