A murder victim found in a burned out home in northwest Wisconsin has been tentatively identified as 43-year-old David Palm of Birchwood in Sawyer County. Authorities believe Palm was killed Saturday night by a man who was found dead Sunday in a smoldering fire next to an abandoned mobile home near Spooner in Washburn County. That person’s name was withheld, pending a positive identification. The bodies of both men were taken to St. Paul Minnesota for autopsies. Sawyer County investigators believe it was a murder-suicide. The pastor of Palm’s church in Birchwood canceled Sunday services while the murder suspect was on the loose – reportedly because the killer had threatened the church previously.
